About

Jaime Ransome (she/her) is a Hudson Valley-based curator, writer, and educator specializing in immersive, community-driven exhibitions that bridge cinematic storytelling with curatorial activism - creating exhibitions that are intellectually sharp and emotionally resonant.  Inspired by literature, music, and art history, Ransome pairs celebrated creative minds with established and imaginative institutions. Working independently under J.Ransome Curation, she collaborates with local art spaces to create ephemeral exhibitions and indelible programmatic experiences.

Curator

Ransome has curated fine art exhibitions across galleries and public spaces for almost ten years. As the Trolley Barn Gallery Manager and a freelance curator she has conceptualized and installed over 30 exhibitions - curating international juried exhibitions, working with artists to develop unique and evolving installations, and facilitating one-of-a-kind exhibition events. After the Trolley Barn Gallery closed in January 2025, Ransome continues collaborates with galleries and public art spaces to create impassioned exhibitions with exciting programming that challenges conventional gallery standards and engage diverse audiences. Ransome focuses on uplifting BIPOC, queer, and female-identifying artists to ensure underrepresented voices are not only included but centered in contemporary art spaces.

Educator

As the Gallery Manager and Instructor of the Trolley Barn Gallery Youth Curatorial Team, Ransome mentored emerging curators and activate the space through mindful programming that championed socially engaged art. Ransome’s teaching practice focuses on curatorial activism through place-keeping and gallery education. To prepare the youth curators for a career in museum education, art writing, and curatorship, Ransome developed a training program that incorporated exhibition design, art critique research, event management, and educational field trips to over 50 galleries and museums in from New York City to the Hudson Valley.

Currently, Ransome is an adjunct professor at Dutchess Community College teaching Art History.
